PSA-ANSYS

PSA-ANSYS is an Excel workbook which provides interface to perform piping stress analysis by ANSYS Finite Element Software. ANSYS runs in the background, therefore no ANSYS experience is required. It has an easy spread sheet input form and graphics interface and it provides capabilities beyond those available in dedicated piping stress analysis software programs such as CAESAR II and AutoPipe. These capabilities include the following:

  • Elastic-plastic material behavior
  • Thick wall pipe application for high pressure systems
  • Automatic calculation by FE analysis of the stress intensification factors of special components.
  • Load stepping for consideration of time history of thermal loads in nonlinear systems.
